
K16 Galz Network contribute to District Coronavirus TaskForce
Kanungu Galz Network, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), based in Kanungu District has today handed over 638 bars of soap to Kanungu District Task Force towards the fight against COVID-19 pandemic . Their target was the most vulnerable families that can’t afford regular soap to wash their hands frequently to avoid spread of the virus
The Items were handed over by Allen Asiimwe a member of K16 Galz Network who is also the Deputy Headteacher Kihihi High School in Kihihi Town Council.
Ms Asiimwe said that as a women oriented group, K16 was concerned about the concerns of many unfortunate women who can access any income yet they have to keep tidy and that’s why the decided to mobilise some resources to buy soap and contribute to the Coronavirus TaskForce.
She said that K16 has agreed with the District TaskForce to distribute the bar of soap to vulnerable needy women because their needs are beyond those of ordinary people.
“We are focused to support the welfare of women and we asked the District TaskForce to identify the neediest women to benefit from our contribution” Asiimwe said.
She said that the the contribution was to ensure that the vulnerable families have soap to wash hands to prevent of the Coronovirus Pandemic, and this is on top of the sensitisation programs K16 has bn airing on various radio stations.
While receiving the boxes of soap, Kanungu District Deputy RDC Emmy Ngabirano thanked the K16 Galz Network for their generosity and motherly offer and assured that their donation will be put to proper use.
“There are many women especially in the Urban Centers whose sources of income were interrupted and they are badly off in need of any kind of support” RDC Emmy Ngabirano said.
The function was witnessed by Kihihi Town Clerk Allen Nahumuza who is also a member of the District TaskForce who also thanked the K16 Galz Network for their offer. K16 Galz Network is a group of women born, raised, work, live and married in Kanungu District whose aim is to support the welfare of women and the girl child in the district.
