K16 Galz has introduced scholarships and bursaries for best performing girls in primary, secondary and vocational institutions. The K16 Galz have also embarked on carrier guidance programs to help girls on their professional path choose courses that are relevant to their future
Life Skills Development & Entrepreneurship
K16 Galz will partner with government and other actors to establish an Industrial skills center for training women in Kanungu district courses in; tailoring, making re-usable pads, weaving, knitting, tailoring hand crafts production, bakery, cookery, to mention a few. This will transform livelihoods of especially adolescent girls and women that may not have accessed formal education
Access to Quality Health Care
K16 Galz is working with key stakeholders and the District Health Office to conduct health education on major causes of maternal and infant death, and lobbying national and in ternational or ganizations to train health workers in Kanungu on how to manage and prevent major causes of maternal and in fant death. We are also working with other charity organizations like the Rotary clubs and pharmaceutical companies to acquire and distribute lifesaving commodities to identiļ¬ed hard to reach health facilities
Economic & Food Security
K16 is mobilizing seed loan support to women and their house holds to enable them cultivate their land efficiently. We are organizing farmer workshops on improving agriculture practices particularly promoting of organic agriculture; we are seeking partnerships for acquisition and distribution of livestock to poor households. K16 Galz has also partnered with other stake holders to conduct market research for Agri products. Partnering with organizations that are into value addition to increase on the shelf life and value for their produce.
